ECHA consultation on further applications for authorisation for continued use of chromium trioxide

 The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has opened a consultation for a further 3 applications for authorisation for the continued use of chromium trioxide in our sector. The uses identified are:

Use of chromium trioxide in Cr(VI) based functional plating
The use of Chromium trioxide for electroplating different types of substrates with the purpose to create a long-lasting high durability surface with bright (shiny) or matte look (Functional electroplating with decorative character)
The use of Chromium Trioxide for a pre-treatment step (etching) in the electroplating process
