SEA and CETS working for the surface engineering industry and our members

As part of our aim to ensure that our members’ voices and concerns are heard and addressed, the SEA takes part in many committees and meetings, as well as being members of other organisations – both here in the UK and in Europe.

As part of this, we are members of CETS (the European Committee for Surface Treatment). By being a member of this group, we are able to represent our members and the UK surface engineering industry as a whole at a European level, ensuring that we are able to have an input after Brexit – deal or no deal! Regardless of what happens at governmental level, we will remain a member of CETS and therefore will continue to have the opportunity to work closely with our European partners.

CETS overview

CETS was established in 1981 with the clear objective of bringing manufacturers and suppliers working in the surface engineering industry together, and to provide a forum for the exchange of information on a wide range of topics affecting the industry.

Today, CETS works throughout Europe acting in the best interests of the surface treatment industry, participating in the committees where standards and legislation are drawn up. It ensures that the industry across Europe stands together and acts collectively, so that it is able to influence decision makers and protect the industry’s interests in the many issues that it faces.

Further information can be found on the CETS website.

SEA and CETS working for your business

The SEA works closely, and will continue to work closely with CETS - regardless of the political arena – to ensure that our members will be looked after, whatever the outcome of Brexit.

If you would like to speak to one of our team about the work we do with CETS, or would like more information on membership of the SEA, please call 0121 237 1123 or email us at info@sea.org.uk.
