This code has been developed in consultation with “the Agencies”, that is, the Environment Agency (EA), Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), the Environment and Heritage Service, Northern Ireland (EHS(NI)) as well as Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Envirowise (formerly Environment Technology Best Practice Programme).
It is intended to give basic practical guidance on health, safety and environmental issues relevant to all companies in the business of surface engineering. There is no statutory obligation to adopt this Code, but in doing so participants confirm their commitment to ensuring full compliance with current legislation and adopting progressive practices by continuous improvement.
