We’d like to provide you with some more helpful information ahead of the January 2022 entry for the Materials Process Engineer Masters degree apprenticeship course at Cranfield University, which we have been supporting and promoting as a key part of the sectors’ skills and training portfolio. The course meets the requirements of the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education standard ST0659 and attracts funding of up to £17,000. SME companies can fund 95% of the cost from the apprenticeship levy and hence for the entire duration of the course the total to an SME is £950, which is fantastic value for money.
The Material Process Engineer apprenticeship qualification will meet the high demand for technical specialism combined with commercial and problem-solving skills. This new blend of skills will increase manufacturers’ ability to exploit new business opportunities. It will provide re-skilling and up-skilling for existing members of staff. Qualified apprentices will support industry’s drive for productivity improvements with clustering of “soft” and traditional skills. Strong leadership teams throughout manufacturing businesses will be essential in the future. Apprentices with a Materials Process Engineer qualification will be equipped with the high-quality skills required to take on these future leadership position
The first cohort of students joined the course in January 2021 and a second tranche starts in January 2022.
